Selection Criteria

Peer Academic Advisors (PAs) are students who:

• Have a GPA of 3.0 or higher
• Are in good standing at the university
• Are available to work with new students via e-mail, Zoom, phone, and/or various social media platforms during the summer
• Possess excellent interpersonal communication and writing skills
• Are able to respond quickly to New Spider inquiries during the summer
• Are outgoing, enthusiastic, and concerned about others
• Available for training prior to the start of employment
• Students who will be traveling and out of contact for an extended period of time during the summer cannot serve as PAs
• Students who have secured a full-time UR summer research fellow position or those who have a university-sponsored internship cannot also serve as PAs
