International Students: Understanding What Works!

Research shows that advisors can provide meaningful and positive experiences for international students as they study in the U.S. However, the unique academic needs of international students are quite different from domestic students. What should advisors know about international students, particularly their backgrounds and academic profiles, that can support their work with this group? What special academic support does International Education offer to international students? Please join Leslie Bohon, Interim Director of ESL, Krittika Onsanit, Director of International Student and Scholar Services, and Diana Trinh, International Student Advisor to discuss our international student population and best practices for advising this unique group.

The lunch is from 12:00 - 1:00 pm on Friday, March 6, in Tyler Haynes Commons Room 305.
